I need more air in my french bread ...

I have been makingbread for many years hiwever now i am attempting to make the perfect French bread and I find that my bread is not airy enough. what should i do or what am i not doing right?

Could you possibly post a copy of your recipe and process? The "crumb" of the bread is determined by several factors, and without being able to narrow things down we'd just be taking shots in the dark.
