Hi guys, hope every one is fine! I'm trying to achieve a candle shaped fruit cake for christmas, this is for a charity raffle. I haven't got a clue what I should bake it in since most deep cake pans are approximately 4 inches tall. How would I achieve a cylinder shape and have the right height, and what diameter pan should be used? The second part of my question is, can I bake a boiled fruit cake now, and will it still be ok for christmas? I intend using marzipan and rolled fondant icing with gumpaste ornaments for decoration. I can't bake a regular fruit cake now as it's too close to christmas and the cake would not mature in time, hence the boiled alternative. Any input would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
