How can I polish the sharp angles of my knife?

I'm talking about the "non-cutting" edges/surfaces around the knife.

Some of my knives, especially German knives have pretty sharp angles at the spine, heel, bolster, handle, etc, which make them less comfort or even can cut my finger when holding the knife tightly.

I wonder if there is an easy DIY way or youtube tutorial to teach how to polish them without breaking the knife. I don't need any big change of the metal shape, just want to polish the sharp angle a bit to make it more comfortable.

Clamp it in a vice between soft pieces of wood. Don't clamp your knife directly. Start at about 1000 grit sand paper and do the motion on the spine that shoe shiners would do.
