It's mid summer now but when winter rolls around here's a great warmer for the snow shovelers out there (I was one once, but now I am found… down in FL)

    Sparkys44 Hot Cocoa

    1/2 cup water

    2/3 cup sugar

    1/2 cup baking cocoa powder

    2 cups milk

    1 1/2 cup half/half

4 good cranks of a salt grinder

    1 tsp red chili powder

    1 tsp vanilla extract

1 stick (aprox. 2" crumbled) cinnamon

    How to…

Combine water, sugar, cocoa powder on low to medium heat and let it all fuse, add chili, salt, cinnamon, and let simmer for about 15 minutes so mixture is smooth and thick. Slowly add milk and half/half (best to warm up in microwave so it won't scorch) and allow to simmer another few minutes, and last add vanilla extract.

Strain if desired and top with mini marshmallows… serve!

To really put it over the top, drizzle a bit of raspberry liqueur over the marshmallows /img/vbsmilies/smilies/drinkbeer.gif

    Enjoy, Sparkys44
