Does anyone have any experience with using a water and hot sauce solution as an insect repellent?  Looking for natural, organic type stuff to keep the beasties from chewing up all my plants.

I use to use that on my beds to keep the neighborhood cars from using them as their litter box, not sure if that would apply here on the mainland with TOTALLY different critters... /img/vbsmilies/smilies/biggrin.gif   (I never saw a raccoon in my life, scared the b-gees outta me!)

I have used a mix like that before. You can use just chilli or that with other stuff in it depending on what type of insect is eating it. just crush it up and soak it in water for about a week then strain it and keep the liquid, works pretty well haha. I think adding lemon and/or garlic will help. I have even heard of people using tobacco soaked water and pure ethanol/alcohol mixes too. Apparently works fantastically lol
