Help With Meatball Recipe For Competition!

    Hi everyone!

    Our meats and poultry class is having a meatball challenge next week and I'm looking for an unusual recipe to make :)  I'm fairly open to  interesting flavor profiles but I am leaning toward either a Polynesian profile or a Korean profile. I like a little sweet with the sour or spicy. I also have to serve a starch and veggie with it but it can be as a sandwich, soup, stand alone or whatever.

    I have been searching online and found some I am interested in, but I thought I would ask here as well since many of you may have an original recipe you wouldn't mind sharing. Any unusual ingredients are welcome, I just have to let our Chef instructor know by Friday. Oh, and I started a new thread as opposed to just searching because searching brought up several Italian style recipes and I kind of have my heart set on something a bit different. Also, the meat we'll be using will be a beef/pork/veal mix although we can use other meats if a recipe calls for it.

    also, any tips outside the norm for keeping the meatball moist would be awesome as Chef was adamant about not being served a dry meatball :)

    Curried pork meatball, with lots of asian influences, mint or maybe cilantro in the meat itself, nuts, pork, onions, garlic, tumeric.

    Maybe make your own curry.  

    You could also take a spicey root, use thai basil in the meat to counter the spice a bit, sesame seeds etc....

    Maybe served on top of some pickled carrots, bean shoots, arugula, green melon, thai basil, etc....

    I saw yesterday a recipe for a curried turtle meat ball, it looked great to be honest... 

    Thats honestly the first thing that came to my mind.
