Good morning! I just joined this forum and want to introduce myself.

I love to cook and subscribe to just about every food magazine known to man. I split my time between Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, and Washington, DC, and find that is a perfect way to cover lots of territory, food-wise.

I am happy to be here and look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Margie! Welcome to Chef Talk. I think you'll view this community as your go-to resource. We have 10 years' worth of information here, and professionals you can  learn from. We hope you'll browse the sub-forums; you can read and browse in the professionals' forums, but we home cooks mustn't post there as we can in the General Forums.

I'm one of those people who puts grocery stores on my "must-see" travel list. I've found lots of wonderful products, some of which led me to recipes which use those products. Plus, I just think it's fun! I learned from skilled home cooks (my mother and grandmother), and began making meals at age 10.

I hope you enjoy the content and add to it yourself. You can use the search tool to find earlier posts on topics of interest.

Grocery stores are definitely on my list of destinations when I go to a new city! So are the farmers' markets and central markets. I can't tell you how many hours I have spent hanging out at such places!

My cooking inspiration was from my mother and grandmother, too! So many of my happy memories from growing up are linked to food!
