Just joined the forum and thought I'd introduce myself.

I've been cooking since I was 11 or 12 (I'm pushing 60). I'm currently a cook and shift lead at a local pizza restaurant which makes about 4 or 5 career changes in my work life.

I'm considering going back to school for some formal training and am currently taking some Consumer Classes from Oregon Culinary Institute to get a feeling for the school and if I really want to spend the money and time.

Looking forward to joining in on the discussions.

Welcome to Chef Talk, Jerry. I hope you'll participate in the discussions and also explore the cooking articles, cookbook reviews and recipes. I think you're going to like it here!

Four or five career changes- was that a quest for the best fit or a search for something new and exciting? I found myself exploring new career fields about every five or six years like clockwork. I wound up staying in the same discipline (education) but with different situations each time. With each new move I learned something about myself and gained new confidence. Did you find that was true also?

Visit often! We'll look forward to your posts.
Regards,
Mezzaluna
