If I had a nickle for every introductory paragraph I've written about myself in the past five years, I could open a bakery and be done with it. That said, I love baking.... I also love (in the following order) my wife and two kids (1 & 2 years old), Star Wars, German beer, 35mm photography, playing the bagpipe, writing, and generally being a big nerd.

I've been a blogger (about baking) for a while, but I'm not getting the like-minded interaction and discussion I seek. Hopefully I'll find it here.

Hello Mark, and welcome to Chef Talk. I think you won't be disappointed with the interaction opportunities to be found here. We have many professional bakers, here, but also a contingent of passionate home bakers. At least one of them (KyleW) has served an unpaid stint in a bakery to extend his education.

Please do have a look at the entire site and do your best not to fall in! If that weren't enough, the search tool can help you locate earlier threads as well.

We're happy to have you with us and hope you participate often.
Welcome!

I'm in Ontario too not too far away from Chefguy... I'm in Hamilton... one of the host cities for the 2015 PanAm games and.. the velodrome is going to be built just steps away from my house.  Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad one...
