Hello! So I just saw this forum and I figured I should go ahead and introduce myself even though I've posted a couple of things on the forum already.... whoops I have been working in different facets of the restaurant business for roughly 10 years, mostly serving and some bartending. I also worked in a small winery for a bit and as a TA for a high school Hospitality & Culinary Arts program. I'm also a registered instructor/proctor for the ServSafe Food Managers Test. I am currently working towards taking the level 1 sommelier test through self-study. For the longest time I looked at working in restaurants as a way to pay the bills, yet I kept coming back to it. Finally when I started working as a TA I started to realize that I have true passion for the culinary arts. So at this moment I have started looking at Hospitality Management Grad programs (I already have a bachelor’s degree in Theatre... THAT was a smart choice lol) as well as culinary schools in the area, specifically community college programs. I'm not sure where all of this will lead to.... Owning a restaurant/catering business Managing a restaurant Becoming a Wine/Beverage Director Teaching Hospitality & Culinary Arts I'm just focusing on the process and keeping my eyes open for opportunity. I have already found this forum very helpful and I look forward to learning from you and hopefully offering some knowledge of my own. Cheers!
