New to this forum and I do not know why I waited so long to join.

I have been a foodie my entire life and have been lucky enough to be raised in my dads butcher shop. I left the business to attend culinary school and then it was all fun for me.

I spent some time working in Scottsdale Az and then I made my way home to NYC, spent a number of years working at some amazing restaurants before I got tired of the hours and needed some family time.

I am now a Q/A - Food Safety Manager for a very large contract food service company. Food is my life and will always be.

I started to do a BBQ catering business in the summer and I do dinner parties/personal chef business in the fall/winter.

I am open to meeting new people and would love to make some new friends in the NYC area that share ther same passions that I do. I live in SI.

    Cook At Home
Hi Pepperedfig! Welcome to Chef Talk. This is a great place to mix it up with other chefs and food service people. It's also a wonderful opportunity to share with and learn from home cooks from many food traditions all over the world, including some people who turn out some stellar BBQ. Use the search tool to look up some of those threads and have a great time with the esoterics of sauce, bark, smoke, etc. Yum.

If you've been hanging out here for a while, you probably know about all the great forums, but don't miss out on the cooking articles, cookbook and equipment reviews, photo galleries and more. We hope you'll add your experiences to the richness of the community and enjoy being part of it. We look forward to your participation.

    Welcome!
