    I'm currently living and working with approximately 100 other people at an intentional community in rural Virgina  called Twin Oaks Community. I'm the Kitchen manager, I work with two other people on our food purchasing team and I work directly with our gardeners to organize what food is grown throughout the year to feed our community. I moved to Twin Oaks two years ago after working in restaurants, teaching cooking classes and running my own catering business in my hometown. In 2008 I graduated form culinary school, there I found my passion for locally sourced foods so, It's not shocking for most people that know me when I tell them I live in an intentional community especially after I tell them that we produce roughly 70% of our own food including our own dairy and grass-fed beef. I'm happy I found this website because I'm always looking for resources on culinary information such as, technique, food preservation, seasonal recipes, ect, to pass along to the cooks at my community and I'm excited to connect with other foodie fanatics around the globe.
