Hello to everyone, my name is Derric, I'm currently a student at Sullivan University in Louisville, KY. I have been working in the industry since I was 16 and cooking since I could reach the stove. My experience is primarily front-of-house, but through the years and many restaurants I have worked in I have learned a great deal just by watching the chefs and asking questions. I decided I wanted to cook professionally about a year ago and i never looked back. It was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love to cook and most importantly to please people with my cooking. I'm a straight A student and just made the culinary team and I have very big aspirations in this field. Anyway, enough about me, I just wanted to say hello.

Hello and welcome to the site.

As you can see we have a section specifically for students, where you will be able to discuss things with people taking the same journey into the various culinary professions!

Take a moment to look at some of the amazing photographs on here, and to read the articles - great inspiration to be had by doing that!

You'll find a lot of kind people here willing to help.

Good for you that you're following your passion! It takes many of us a long time to figure out exactly what we want to do.

You said you learned a lot just by watching the chefs. I know you're going to be a great success just by that statement. Absorb as much information as you can, while you can. Then, you can make your own mark.

It's an exciting time! Best of luck
