Hello guys, my names Chris and i'm from Leicestershire in the UK, have been cooking now for around 10 years but seriously for the last 5 or so, I do have a website up with my recipes. I look forward to hearing which recipes you have in store as well.

Hello Chris and welcome from another UK-er!

I've removed your link as we ask new members to interact with the other membership before linking  to a personal blog or site - but I am sure your site will be of interest to members, but just a little time down the line.  /img/vbsmilies/smilies/biggrin.gif

Our membership is from around the globe and all levels of culinary skill. Like you, I am an enthusiastic amateur but we also have professional chefs and food writers and caterers and patissiers - so lots of opinions and skills to learn from!

Feel free to join in on any thread you find interesting, or start your own in the relevant forum.  There are three professionals-only fora which are read-only for those of us not currently employed in a culinary capacity, but they can make fascinating reading.  The articles, reviews and photography on the site are all well worth spending time to view - and can be a real source of inspiration.

I don't know Leicestershire well, but love some of the area-specific foods like Stilton and Melton Mowbray pork pies!  I hope to see you around the boards.

My family are not too far from Melton and they do indeed make superb pork pies, i'm yet to convert to Stilton though, however!

Having a look around the forum its looking like a great source of inspiration already!

    Happy cooking!

I couldn't live without a good Stilton, one of the premier cheeses, imo!
