Hello and help required

Hi, I wish to bake a cake and have a layer of fruit sitting in the middle of the cake .I do not want to make the cake in two halves ,just to have it as a seamless Fruit Sponge cake.,
Any suggestions ..Please :rolleyes:

In this situation I would sprinkle the fruit with fine breadcrumbs (if juicy) to absorb excess moisture--the cake should be seamless.
