I am definitely not a chef, but my wife and I do own our own restaurant. I'm more of a cook than anything. I've been cooking full time for about a year and a half. I spent 30 of the last years as a Maintenance tech and tradesman. I also have 5 years under my belt as a Marine Grunt. I'm here looking for information.

If you own and operate your own restaurant, run the kitchen and do the cooking, you're a chef.

Don't be bashful. Feel free to ask questions. We love to give answers and sometimes, we even get it right. lol!

Wow that certainly is dramatic career change, any story behind that?
It's something I just started doing 15 or so years ago and decided I wanted to do it for the rest of my life. I have so much fun, every day, I almost feel guilty. Not many folks can say they are living their dream. I'm one of the blessed few.
