The past few days, I have just not been into making anything, I mean anything

Thank goodness I have a bunch of leftovers and frozen stuff from when the tribe was here (aka our family from back home in Hawaii), not to mention my husband is okay with paper plates and plastic sporks.

Granted, I still have my passion for food, but I just want to sit and have someone else do it all.

Now, I’m not complaining or anything, but in our house I do the whole shebang!  Whiz! Bang! Boom!   From the marketing, to the prep work, to the cooking, to the clean up, I’m just not in to it right now.  Oh waiter?!

I know the feeling I get it about once a week so we order take out.  I've never had it for a prolonged period of time though, I wonder what's up.  At the moment I call myself a couch cook because my husband is doing all the cooking and I'm glued to the couch feeding our new baby without a chance of getting up lol.  I miss it lots.

    Congratulation!!

I just love new baby smell, I can see why you are couch surfing sister!!

And hang on to that husband of your who knows how to cook.

My wish would be that we have some place around this desolate desert that delivered or even relatively close enough for take out!!

Dinner was so mediocre and over priced, but we went out to eat!  We have another road trip planned for next month, so I'm super excited about that!!  West Coast, can't wait...  seafood!! I should say fresh seafood

I don't think there's any shame if you don't cook every  single day. You are bound to have leftovers from cooking so much, and it's ok to treat yourself to takeaways now and then.

Home you have a choice. When feeding the public you do not, unless you call in sick and thats a no no

when I cook a meal and I'm just not into it, I don't put that "love" into it... the dishes just don't taste right ... my husband recently told me, "then just don't cook if you don't fell like it, I don't want to eat something made only half a__".  And he's right..

but then the professionals out there, what do you do?

Well as a professional...you don't have a choice.  Like it or not, this is what you chose to do every day so, you have to put on your happy face and slip on your apron and get to it.  There's no room for feeling like you don't want to cook when you have a lot of folks counting on you for a meal.  You're being paid to perform a duty.  You have to do what's expected whether you feel like it or not.  It's not the same as cooking at home.  /img/vbsmilies/smilies/smile.gif

I guess I just started thinking about not “cooking with love”, if you don’t feel it, doesn’t the end product come tasting different even in a professional kitchen?
