    Hey all,

I'm from Australia and I'm about to be studying patisserie at William Angliss, where the recommended gear is all Club Chef/Durawear.

I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with their gear.

    Thanks,

    Adrea

Yeah it's decent, all the teachers are in it too, but probably because dura wear has a store on campus (if you're in Melbourne)

Good quality uniforms but they're not at the cheap end so vs prepared to fork out.

I'm really glad to hear that!

I'm not too concerned about money for this right now, I've been saving for a few months and have about $1000 put aside for my uniform, and tool kit :)

    Thanks!

Go for it then! On a side note, I've moved to another tafe, and angliss is far superior. Although I'm doing cookery not patisserie but I know angliss is great for pat too

I already am qualified in IT, so I don't get any VIC gov subsidy. $15000 in education costs had damn well better be worth it :p

Are you still in melbourne? Which TAFE did you transfer to?

    Thanks,

I'm in the hunter valley in nsw now, at hunter tafe
It's good but tafe cuts and also just the way they do things doesn't allow as much info as we got at angliss. A lot more time spent on each thing there and it was a challenge, compared to this tafe they basically hand you the answers to everything and hold your hand through assessments

I must admit that I'm actually really looking forward to the theory component of this course, so hearing that makes me happy :)

Thank you for your help and good luck at the hunter! I wish I was out there amongst the wineries...
