Hi guys,
I am working professionally since 14 years (I´m 33) and most of them working in Europe (I am Argentine) so Spain, France, Italy, Germany and now the UK.

So after being almost 2 years in the UK I am moving to Asia to work in Tokio in May. So I am finishing my notice period at the end of March and I'll fly to Cambodia to stay for 2 months, kind of hollidays so I can travel to Laos, Thailand and Vietnam before I move forward to Tokyo

The point is that I´ve been reading and researching about Cambodia and... Apart from the fact of being land the phedophiles and fugitives... seems to be a very cool place and I am kind of tired from big metropolis like London, Madrid, etc.... ...

With this I'm not saying I'll apply for jobs there but I wonder if some of you have been there and specially if you have been working there?

Thanks!

I spent some time there.  Tthe food is rustic and didn't get the Thai culture.  And the pay will be absolute shit.  But do it if you want to

I know food looks rustic... I even checked the 2 more 'modern' Khmer restaurast (Malis and Topaz) and you´re quite right...
From the other hand it´s said that you can find Indian influence as well as Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese... Honestly I have no idea of what I will find but I´ll definitely give it a try if I like it once I am there...
The wages I know they are low but I heard you can earn a wage which let you live okay for the life costing if you´re experienced enough (USD1000-1500) which is nothing but there in Cambodia is very okay...

where did you work there? and also if you can tell me about work permit, where to get it?

cheers!

I didn't work there. I spent a month there and 4 months in Thailand, Vietnam and Indo.  It's cheap there so maybe don't work and relax.  You will probably only make 5 dollars a day any way.  Sihanoukville on the beach is a cool town

No worries man, happy to answer.
I am from Argentina but my grand parents were Sicilians so I have an Italian passport because italian blood-line... with this one I am able to go free to live and work around Europe.

Now to work in an Asian country you need to first have a passport which allow you to apply for a visa (most western countries can) and then find an employer to sponsor your visa. For this he will need from you either to have a culinary degree or 10 years experience in the trade. This in Japan but every country is different.

Hope it helps
