I am afraid to use my service on the new ceramic stovetop...anyone try it with success and no problems to stovetop?

As long as it's smooth and flat there should be no problem. If it is rough from the casting, then use a flame tamer/ heat spreader underneath.

You'll lose a bit of responsiveness but it's an inexpensive way to keep using a favorite bit of cookware.
