    Hello All,

    New here, first post. Thought I would take a minute to say hello and mention what a great resource this site seems to be. Am looking forward to learning quite a bit during my tenure here.

    20+ years private and catering. Proteins are my specialty, pastries my hobby.

    Hi 'Bear, and welcome to Chef Talk. We're glad you found us and look forward to your participation here. I'm sure you'll pick up some great ideas from the pastry people here, and toss in some of your own with the savory side of things.

    Besides the forums we have cooking articles, cookbook and equipment reviews, photo galleries, wikis and more. Take a look at some of the archived guest forums too- there've been many interesting guests and plenty of good talk. We've been here about 11 years now, so the archives are full of good stuff!

    Thank you for the warm welcome. Enjoying my time here for sure.

    So much to read, so little time.

    Will take me forever and a day to put a mere dent in all of the information here.

    The savory side of things, I'll admit ive got my ego chained to that one but pastries I'm the first to say rank amateur at best and thats being generous. Once i've been here  a bit and get the feel of the place im sure ill chime in on the forums more and more as time goes on.
