    Hello! I actually found the site by doing a search for "pastry chef wrist injury."  Sad that this is what brings me here, but it looks like a great resource for all things culinary, so I thought I'd stick around.

    Welcome gfpatissier. I'm sorry too that an injury brought you here, but hope you are enriched by your participation here.

    Am I assuming too much that "gf" might mean "gluten free"? I do a bit of gluten free baking myself for a friend who has celiac disease and have learned a great deal from the experience. If I made a false assumption, well then, never mind. /img/vbsmilies/smilies/redface.gif

    We have a strong contingent of bakers and patissiers her from all over the world. The photo gallery is graced with many examples of beautiful work, some of it award-winning. I've had the pleasure of meeting some of the pastry chefs from Chef Talk and have learned so much from them and many others here. They helped foster this home cook from a lousy cake mix baker into a die-hard scratch baker who's getting braver all the time.

    What got you started in the business? Was there a person or experience that sparked your interest? People's stories of inspiration are fascinating.
