So I just ordered the book "Sharp" by Josh Donald of Bernal Cutlery in San Francisco. I probably should have asked BEFORE laying my money down, but is it a good book worth having?

What do you want from the book?

Sharp is under $20 from Amazon and it's hard to go wrong with that. I like the book . . . and I also like Knife: The Culture, Craft and Cult of the Cook's Knife
by Tim Hayward.

However, depending on what you want to know, do better, etc., it may fall short.

For all basics one should know about knives in Western cuisine, and their maintenance: Chad Ward's An Edge in the Kitchen.
