Getting your own chef Website

    I was wondering if any of you have looked into getting your own website built to help promote yourselves to get jobs and share your recipes.  

    I think I found a place that I can get my own personal website built and maintained for $20 per month.

    If you have gotten a website.. What challenges did you have? 

    Do you think it's worth it? Any ideas on what to include?

    Hi there, I registered to cheftalk just to reply to your post. I was in the industry for 12 years and now am in technology. Do not spend $20 per month on your website, it's a waste of money. If I were you I would go with a hosted solution (wordpress.com), which is free and allows you to have your own blog.

    I have about 10 websites now (all created with wordpress) and host them all on one account, which I pay $10 a month for (shared hosting). One of them is getting a major redesign because I haven't posted to it in a long, looong time and recently got re-inspired to do so. The benefit of hosting your own is control, mostly. If you want any further advice please don't hesitate to ask.

    I'm with TheKidd - start small and free, get a blog - blog spot or wordpress are common ones. They are free as well. They are also free of ads and common amongst lots of bloggers.
