Tonight would be a good day to eat out. Alot of you may already know this: I just learned that many restaurants are donating all or some portion of today's profits towards a fundraising effort for victims of Katrina and Rita. The amount that each donates varies. To locate a participating restaurant and to find out what they are donating, go to www.dineforamerica.org. Here's hoping that alot of people are helped.

There are so many organizations doing so many things for the displaced victims, it kinda makes ya feel good giving when giving is good...

RestaurantEdge.com- RestaurantEdge has drop off centers placed in Houston, New Orleans, Knoxville, Austin, Little Rock and a few other places looking for books, radios, children's games, toiletires etc. and is asking for monetary donations be sent to your local Salvation Army/Red Cross.

Egullet- Is offering a scholarship program for those displaced culinarians from New Orleans from the first year student to the seasoned professional.

Chef2Chef-has a variety of assistance programs set up

CiraJobs is offering free postings of positions to aid the displaced victims in attaining employment elsewhere. As is the ACF...

The list could go on and on....

Not everyone can give money...this is understood...

But we can all give a little piece of ourselves to make our world a better one in so many other ways...
