Bought a big plastic box of this in bjs, besides using for green salad what can I use it for and how? Not really into cooking with greens

Braise, sautée, blanche, pickle, etc. All good, but nothing like fresh lettuce.

I'm a little boggled by this question. I'm confused as to why you bought baby lettuce if the idea of salad wasn't enough on its own. I mean, it's baby LETTUCE. A more tender version of the green used almost exclusively to make SALAD.

Is this a trick question?

If it is baby lettuce the leaves may not be big enough to use as wrappers for a big hunk of Korean Bo S'sam [ or however you prefer to spell it ] as an entry in this month's challenge.

What is sweet lettuce?

Eating raw foods is a relatively new invention. It is unheard of to eat uncooked lettuce in Chinese cuisine for example. I'm going off of raw salads myself if you can believe it and preferring to sauté, grill or poach greens, I even roast it.

Arugula, spinach, endive etc are great thrown into pastas or soups. But again I don't know what kind of plant sweet baby lettuce is so I can't say as to whether or not it would do well in dishes like that.

Mix of baby red romaine, baby green romaine, baby spinach, baby green leaf, baby tango, baby green oak, baby red leaf, baby red oak, baby lollo rossa lettuces. Don't even know what some of them are. Never sauted anything like this and have no idea how. It's a 16 oz. Box which is alot just for salad and I don't really have salad fixes on hand. Got kidney and black beans, canned fire roasted tomatoes, maybe some feta left in the freezer. Bought some Vidalia onion vinegarette also bottle of vidalia salad dressing, poppy think, thousand island, raspberry walnut vinaigrette. Got onions and some baby carrots, walnuts, pecans in bags, apples, frozen green pepper big chunks, bottlet red pepper with garlic, mushrooms bottled bought by someone else.

Do you have:

- Vinegar?
- Oil?
- Salt?
- Pepper?

If yes, you've got all the fixings needed for a salad.
Olive oil, olive oil with rosemary or chili pepper, coconut oil with rosemary. Balsamic maybe some rice to. Sea, french gray salt, same with herbs, Hawaiiin red and black, Himalaya salts. Mixed and just white pepper.

Well there yo go! Make a simple vinaigrette out of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, S & P.

Or if you don't want to bother: wash rinse and dry thoroughly, place lettuce in a bowl, drizzle with some balsamic and S & P, toss, add olive oil, toss again, serve right away.

Oh I know those mixes. They're called spring mix here. It's all mild tasting stuff that is best for salads and sandwiches.

I made my wife stop buying "fresh express" - it's B-stock produce with too many ribs and schwarf for the money they are asking.  By the time you clean it up you have 50% waste - or feed for livestock.

I had their pear and gorganzola salad yesterday. Couldn't find a pear - dried or otherwise. Oh, well. It was prewashed and a good "mix" of assorted greens. Hoping for better luck with another brand's Ginger Bok Choy salad.
