Food blogging

    For some time now I have had a strong urge to start a food blog. But every time I decide on a name and/or POV that I am thrilled about I find that it already exists. The constant changing of concepts and names frustrates me and delays my progress. How important it is to have an original point of view when it comes to blogging? What is the best way to build a following, particularly if your idea is not original.

    You have to find a niche that's all.  I follow food blogs related to low-carb or paleo diets.  If you're starting a blog about the cooking you do in your house then yea that's very broad and generic.  No reason not to start it but if you're trying to have a following you have to get more creative.

    A few years back I started a forum site similar to this, but aimed at folks here in Utah.  A nice idea, but wasatchfoodies.com never really took off.  I do post some recipes there, point folks on Facebook to it and such.  And I get dozens and dozens of new registrations every day.  Too bad they are all from bogus spambots.

    So things on the net don't always work out as you plan.  So it goes.
