I have a really nice English tea kettle that is tin lined. It has a build up of limescale from hard water. Normally you can use vinegar, lemon juice, typical lime remover or something abrasive. However all of these apparently react with tin and can dissolve it or scratch it off.

I feel certain something must exist that will dissolve the calcium deposits without harming the tin.

    Any help is appreciated!
