Dry cupcakes!

    I made red velvet cupcakes and they are dry. I made them last year and thought I was using the same recipe but they vcertainly dont taste the same. I did notice the batter was a little bit thicker than I remembered. The recipe didnt call for oil. Should I add oil? Help please!!!!

    I do a lot of red velvet cupcakes & they have never been dry.  I use sour cream & buttermilk - no oil & my batter is a bit thick as well.

    Could you have accidently over-cooked them?

    Also recipe (as above) would be helpful :)
