Do you like to cook or be cooked for?

I love to be the one cooking because I need to have control. I'm very particular about what I eat, and how I like food to look so I rather be the one cooking it, not so much because I want to impress the other person, but more because I want to ensure I go to bed having had a decent meal. /img/vbsmilies/smilies/tongue.gifIt's not to say I don't appreciate eating someone else's meal, but it has to be real homey or real fancy, that's the only way I'll relinquish my power. It can't just be food on a plate just for the sake of feeding someone.

I grew up with a mom who put minimal effort into cooking. At the same token, I would love nothing better than to go to a traditional Puerto Rican household and have a plate of all my fav cooked for me. That would totally rock my world.

Both.  I like cooking because I know I generally can make them happy with food.  I like being cooked for if the other person is a good cook and will make me happy with food.

I like to be invited for dinner, even by people who can't cook (and i've had to sit on my hands as i watch someone put perfectly good pork chops on a cold frying pan, or something like that, but i pretty much like eating anything i haven't had to cook for myself if i'm in company.)

Unfortunately, because i'm a really good cook many friends are unnecessarily afraid of having me for dinner.  But generally at home i like to cook for myself.  I remember coming home from school and my mother would be cooking something i hated and it's a pleasure to be able to decide myself what to eat.  But if I were alone, i wouldn't be making a cooked meal every night.  I'd eat Cheerios with raisins three nights a week for sure.

I like both, esp if the person cooking for me is a good cook (like my dad /img/vbsmilies/smilies/smile.gif).

One of the reasons I started cooking is that then at least I know I like the food and if you cook, you don't need to do the dishes /img/vbsmilies/smilies/peace.gif

It depends on what my primary focus is for the experience. If it is to hit my palate squarely on the head, then it only follows to reason that I would do the cooking because no one can exactly hit my palate as well as I can. It is mine and mine alone. To expect any one else to be able to do that is sheer folly.

I need variety because I get bored easily. Even though my culinary dabblings are pretty wide ranging, I know my cooking like the back of my hand and many times I just want to experience the offerings of someone else.

At work, lunch is usually a sandwich or one of the other items from our deli. Some of the kitchen staff always prepare their own sandwich because no one can hit their palate exactly was well as they can. I generally like the deli staff to prepare my sandwich just because it ain't the back of my hand.

I would rather be cooked for with the caveat that it would have to be to my standards and often my recipes.  That isn't going to happen so I cook.
