If you are in New York City on Tuesday, June 12, here is an event you should consider attending. It is organized by the New York Women's Culinary Alliance.

Demystifying India's Spice Coast

Please join Ammini Ramachandran, author of Grains, Greens, and Grated Coconuts, for a special discussion on the secrets of Southern Indian cuisine. Learn of lesser known regional ingredients and taste a dish from this prized book that is a history and recipe collection of Kerala cuisine.

Suvir Saran, Co-Executive Chef of Devi, stated in the book's forward "In this richly flavored book on the household cooking of Kerala...Ammini Ramachandran takes us into a journey that even tour guides driving you through Kerala's many vistas would be unable to share."

Devi will provide a sampling of appetizers representative of the region.

What's suvir up to these days, ever since he dropped out of the egullet scene (along with most everyone else) haven't heard much from him.
