I really love the Flamin' Hot flavor that is found on various Frito Lay chips. If only the powder were available for purchase, I would put it on nearly everything I eat. With that said, I attempted to make a crusted pan seared steak with crushed Flamin' Hot Cheetos. It turned out just ok, nothing special. The taste was fine overall but the Cheetos when in butter and heat seemed to simply dissolve. So my question is, how would I go about getting an actual crunchy crust with this flavor? Perhaps another variety of chip would help. They come in Cheetos, Fritos, Funyuns, and Puffs. Any help is greatly appreciated.
