cooking beef patties

    hi guys! I'm just wondering what is the best cooking time and teperature on an electric grill to cook a 200g beef patty medium to well done.

    Can't really say. First of all, that would depend on the shape and thickness of your patties. When I grill burgers, I do it over direct heat on the charcoal grill, 3-4 minutes per side. Experiment a bit with your particular grill and use a temperature probe.You'll probably want 60-65°C core temperature.

    cover patty with empty pie tin for about 2 minutes.

    Thanks guys, very much appreciated! I should've been more descriptive and said that yes, the patties are quite thick and I'm using an electric hotplate/grill on a temperature of 200 degrees C for approximately 6 mins on either side. I've also been using a pie tray the entire time and think an extra minute or 2 on both sides is about the time it takes to cook them.
