if this (or something similar) has already been posted, I appologize.
I have been trying to think of a way to pull a harder vacuum on my wine preserver corks. I think I found a great solution. first you need a vacuum sealer with an accessory hose, second, you need a small rubbermaid container.
I took a drill and made a hole that will fit the plug on the accessory hose snugly.
when you turn the pump of the sealer on, it will pull itself onto the preserver "cork" and pull a hard vacuum on the bottle.
it seems to be working really well. I just wanted to share this with the ChefTalk community.
