Choosing a Culinary School

    Hello,

    Recently, I have been looking for the most suitable culinary school in Europe. So far, I have checked Le Cordon Bleu - France, B.H.M.S. - Switzerland, Culinary Arts Academy - Switzerland and Swiss Alpine Centre - Switzerland.
    I have been wondering if someone could offer me some place else or provide me with a few advice's about those 4 schools.

    I just got accepted to Ferrandi in Paris for pastry. It starts in September and I'm really excited! I've spoken with a few students who went there and they loved it!

    Hey Jessie I would love to chat about you about your experiences once you are in school. I am trying to decide between a few pastry arts schools. Ferrandi is one one of them. Another top contender is the culinary arts academy in Switzerland. Any thoughts?

    I never looked at Switzerland so I'm not sure. I'm from the US so if I wasn't going to study abroad in Paris, I was going to go to a school here in the US. And like I said before, I've eats from students at Ferrandi and they loved it so that also helped me make my decision.

    As for communicating while I'm at the school, I'd be more that happy to do so!
    (I'll probably jump on the blog bandwagon lol)

    Haven't heard of most of those, however, I am going to be starting at Northwest next month.  PICA's culinary programs are ridiculously expensive and I was turned right off by a few comments made to me during my tour/interview.

    If someone is paying for it all then pick the best. If not then don't go to school. Work. Travel. Open your eyes and educate yourself by surrounding and immersing yourself in the world in which you wish to learn about and master.

    the only school in Vancouver that is up to standard in the culinary industry is probably VCC's culinary program.

    I am also torn between the LCB and Ferrandi in Paris and the Culinary Arts Academy in Switzerland... Unfortunately, I haven't read any feedback from any students at the CAA. I want to go next September. If anyone finds any "inside" information about CAA Switzerland, could you please, please share it with me? Thanks a lot!

    im in the same way of you, in Italy i look 2 schools affordable and really nice! ICIF planning to attend next year,

    I wiil go for Le Cordon Bleu in France, a well reputed and good culinary school to get the professional knowledge about culinary arts and education.

    It's a 5 month program, 660 hours 70% practical (lessons are translated if you can't speak French).
     

    I had already been through uni to study literature before I fell in love with the kitchen, and while I refuse to pay for education twice I'm still wildly jealous of those who can afford to attend these schools, Ferrandi looks pretty awesome, enjoy!
