chefs jackets

    can people tell me if it illegal to be wearing short sleeved chefs jackets in the kitchen?

    Most likely not illegal, but possible depending where you are I guess.

    I can't imagine in any scenario that it would be illegal. I say this because of the myriad of cooks out there that wear t-shirts and cargo shorts to work. With that said the only possible places where it may be illegal are place with high risk customers ie patients like hospitals or nursing homes. Although even then I can't see how short sleeves could be a health risk.

    I've only worked in a couple of states, but never heard of this being illegal.

    Against company policy maybe, but not illegal.

    being a HACCP Course instructor along with also being a chef for 28 plus years, not at all illegal.
