I'm new here and every time I try to create a new thread, I get the error message:

"Sorry but the thread you linked does not exist."

I'm using Safari version 6 on OS X 10.7.4.  I've tried in both the Cooking Equipment and Cooking Knives forums.  Same error message in both.  Oddly though, it allowed me to create one in here.

Any idea what might be wrong?

Your links were triggering the spam filter so it was automatically holding them for review. Peril of being a new user where we get a lot of spam.

Sorry for your difficulty, but with a few more non-linked posts, the system will trust you.

I'm having this problem currently as well.  However, I didn't post any links.  I even tried posting a very short thread to test and got the same message.

Are these messages held for sure?  If so, a message alerting the user may benefit the forums.  Just my opinion.

    Thanks!

It was because your early posts contained links and that you kept posting the same thing over and over, something spammers do. Each post was held for review by moderators.

Post it once, if it doesn't seem to go through, contact a moderator and see if they can see it in the moderation queue to get it approved.

I'm having the same problem. I had no links in my post so that wasn't the problem. I got the message the first time I tried to post so it wasn't because I posted the same thing over and over (at least the first time). It was a long post so perhaps that triggered the filters.

The error message is really not helpful and gives no indication that the problem has anything to do with the content. You might consider changing it to something more informative. I tried posting using different browsers and even tried re-confirming my e-mail and then re-posting because I thought the problem might be on my end. Sorry for the multiple submittals.
