cake recipe help

    I was given what I think is only part of a recipe.  My wife had this cake as a kid (never made it only consumed it) and said when you cut into it that it looked like a black and white speckle.

    Ingredients:

    3 squares of bakers chocolate

    2 tbs gelatin

    1/4 cold water

    6 eggs seperated

    3/4 cup sugar

    angel food cake torn into 1/2 squares.

    bake cake and let cool, cut into 1/2 cubes and place in bowl.

    dissolve gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water.  melt chocolate by your prefered method. mix gelatin in with chocolate.(cool)

    beat egg yokes till thickened and lemony color, add to chocolate mixture.  

    whip whites till stiff, fold into chocolate mixture. 

    poor over the angel food cake and mix together then place in a spring form pan and refrigerate for 4-5 hours.

    I am not sure if anyone has made anything similar but I am just going from a very broken english translation.

    This looks a lot like Gâteau froid... I've seen a similar cake but with sugar cookies instead of angel food cake.

    got an update to my dilemma. learned that you mix hot water with the chocolate to make it more of a easy flowing chocolate.
