    Does anyone know why I would be getting tiny black specks on the outside of my biscotti? ....and they are not burnt...is it a sugar reaction?

    Never heard of that. I would suspect the baking powder. Replace that and try again. Or perhaps if it was baked in a convection oven that was not clean.
