Beat it in your standing mixer with the paddle or hook. Separates it nicely into the strands.  Work in batches of course. Fast and easy.

For resting I drop butts in a steam table pan and cover with foil. Into a towel lined cooler for 1-5 hours depending on what else I need to cook yet.
