Best molds for mini cakes

Hi everyone, I've been wanting to introduce single layer frosted mini cakes (2-3 inch diameter) into my bakery.

Does anyone have a preferred mold they use? I've tried using a tray with round cavities and removable bases but had trouble with sticking and an inconsistent rise. Now I'm considering either individual rings or silicone molds but have only used silicone products for entremets in the past.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Whenever I’ve done mini cakes, I’ve just used a ring cutter to cut rounds from a sheet cake. No additional expense for special pans, and more latitude with sizes depending on the cutter I used.
