Hello!  I am new to this forum and would appreciate any suggestions for the best dining experiences in Chicago.  By "best", I do not necessarily mean "most expensive" (however, I am not averse to an expensive dinner, provided that it is a pleasant and delicious experience).  I am looking for excellent dining experiences that are not just tourist magnets, but local favorites.  I am interested in both ethnic and standard American cuisine; I would like suggestions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Thank you!/img/vbsmilies/smilies/smile.gif

Yolk on Michigan Ave is very good for breakfast.  It's priced OK and the portion sizes are huge!

We also liked the Exchequer I think they are on East Wabash but check with google to be sure.  I managed to get the bug that was going through our kitchen while we were there and we found this place on our first night.  I ordered the daily specials for the soup which was amazing and the meals were very good.. generous portions (huge by our Canadian standards...lol) and the service was amazing.  I wish I had felt better when we were there....
