I just had to share with you all my homemade BBQ ribs.... Seeing as I do most of the BBQing in our house I wanted to share these.... Even made my own BBQ sauce from scratch and it turned out fantastic!!! I'm not one for recipes so after some research I decided to try my own and it turned out excellent. Don't think I'll be buying BBQ sauce ever again!!!

It is easy. I've probsbly never actually made two exact same batches of sauce, but my basic recipe goes something like this:

    Sweat 1/2 onion, finely chopped, and 2 - 3 cloves of minced garlic in 1 - 2  T oil

    When soft and transparent add

    1/2 cup catsup

    1/2 cup water

    1/4 cup cider vinegar

    2 T molasses

    2 T Worcestershire sauce

    1 t ground black pepper

    1 t ground cumin

1 t dry mustard ( or a couple squirts of the yellow stuff from the bottle )

1 t chili powder or smoked paprika

Whatever is left over from the last batch made

Simmer until it looks like the consistency you want, adjust seasonings to taste.

I'm guessing at the measurements, I do it by eye and add more of something if I think it needs it.

That is how I am too.... By eye! I was taught a lot of things and one of them was to eyeball and go with taste! Thanks for the tip I was thinking about molasses and I may just try it next time :)

I see grill marks, could you describe the temperature and time you did the ribs?  I want to know more, gas or charcoal etc., I like the pic and would like more info about how you did those nice looking ribs.
