    Does anyone use it?

I like shopping there. Just now and again when I need a taste of America...We can get mountain dew in the UK and root beer, but they change the recipe to suit UK tastes. So I order a case from Amazon and it's the good stuff. Huge list of other US stuff too

Likewise, when I want to cook authentic middle eastern food, I order the spices. I can get my favourite New Orleans coffee and Chinese snacks I like

    Just wondered

I've never bought food because I live in an area where I can find just about any foodstuff you could ask for from any part of the globe,  but I have bought a good deal of cookware and kitchen gadgetry from Amazon. Can't beat the prices.

As a bookseller who works for a competing company, I have grave misgivings about their predatory pricing on books and what it is doing to American publishing and bookselling, but I have also taken advantage of that pricing from time to time, when it exceeds the discount I can get at work. Mostly on pricey cookbooks which they often sell for up to 45% off the list price. Sales tax is high where I live, too, so it's nice not to have to pay that as well.

the internet is truly the greatest experiment in anarchy in recorded history. electric trade routes. flying carriages with jet propulsion. we've come a long way my friends. like bughut was saying we can stretch our hand across the globe and select the finest from its original providence. there's now truly no excuse for mediocrity.

Quite so. There is never any excuse for mediocrity and sourcing ingredients in an international grocers means you dont have to compromise.
