looking for a cheaper alternative to use as a puff pastry molded pie (single serving) I usually use 4 inch but am looking to make more than the amount of pans I have. Has anyone successfully used something else? (more cost effective)

I'm slightly confused by your question...if you are looking to make individual pies you'll need some sort of individual sized pan or mold to use...I suppose you could free hand individual pies but that doesn't sound like a great idea.

Is it not possible to just buy more molds so you can make more at a time? What do you mean by "cost effective"...i.e. cost effective molds or cost effective pies?
