Any ideas on what to make with almond flour, other than cookies? Regarding chocolate chip cookies, would almond flour make them tougher? How about muffins?

What else would almond flour be useful for?

Almond flour is not really flour in the true definition.

Any nut ground finely just to the point of making a "butter" is just that.

    Ground nuts.

Not meant for substituting 1:1 for flour in just any recipe but if you like the flavor profile there is no reason you cannot add a tablespoon in here and there.

The original ingredient for a low carb diet as well as gluten free......

Almond flour (aka almond meal) is used in pate sucree (a tart dough) and in French macaron; both recipes call for a lot of it so if you're trying to use some up, those are good places to use it.

As Mimi says, you can add a little bit to existing recipes if you want; it's not going to hit you over the head with almond flavor but it adds a nice touch.

Not a bad idea to try to eat more almonds.

Quite nourishing with a bit of fiber plus some amt of the good for you fats.

Since my last blood lipids test I have switched to a vanilla flavored low sugar "almond milk" on my cereal.

Makes a really great glass of chocolate milk.

The hubs brought home a carton of dark chocolate syrup for a guilty pleasure.

    Cannot deprive myself totally lol.

How much almond flour/meal for a pate sucree that uses 6 oz of flour???  Enough for a 9 inch tarte mold???

Our recipe uses a 1:4 ratio (1000 grams almond flour, 4 kilos flour) so for yours it would be 1.5 oz almond flour to 6 ounces of flour

Um, if the desired amount is 6 ounces total and the ration is 1:4, then A+4F = 6 ounces, substituting a for F, 5F = 6 ounces, therefore A=F = 1.2 ounces and 4F = 4.8 ounces, otherwise, one ends up with 7 1/2 ounces total

Yes! Thank you for catching that and correcting it; I didn't think to distinguish between using 6 ounces total (almond and regular a/p) versus 6 ounces of flour.  Much appreciated!
