i finally was able to score a catering prep cook job interview after 6 plus months of trying to get into catering. but now im freaking out as to i have no experience in that field of work. obviously they saw something they liked on my resume to call me back, but i really have not a ton of knowledge how things are done in that side of the business. do they normally ask a bunch of food related/catering cooking, etc type questions on the first interview? cause i really have no idea. i do know my interview will be taking place with one of the sous chefs, and not having to go through HR first.

any kind of advice would be great.

They'll want to know about your experience and how it will be relevant to their work. You should ask about hours, schedules, seasonality and the possibilities of working your way up.

You should be frank about what you do and don't know, this can be a good entry level position.

If you've got no orders or it's quiet, clean, stock up your station, note down what you're low on, check and label the walk in, think ahead and keep yourself busy.
