member of several baking forums and felt the need for some fresh lurked around a few promising sites (LOVE lurking, hehehe) and kept coming back here. The feel of community is strong and seldom do I come across any of the "better than thou" attitudes so common elsewhere. So...have been a lover of all things food since my first cooking lesson, standing on a chair (with one of Gma Van's aprons rolled up and tied tight) at the old gas monstrosity, stirring the gumbo. Many decades later I find myself teaching my own grandkids in much the same way. Circle of life and all that. Much has changed in the culinary world since then...but one thing will always ring true. Good food prepared well, served and eaten with friends and family, will never go out of style.
