ive worked in a kitchen before, not long in either instance, im a foody.. ive cooked at a village inn a bit, not much though.. and prepped at a hotel.. anywho ive got a burning question! i just applied for applebees and they said the chances are good of me getting a job as a line cook there. i just turned in the app last night and am calling tomorrow, but my question is on applebees. is it a good kick in the rump jump start for a culinary career? im 21 and am looking to really get into the field. the other times i was in a kitchen i will not add to any resume's, both were little experience.. so what do you guys think? is applebees a good REAL start to a culinary career? i already assume everythings going to be all pre packeged and the hardest part will be the menu (if any real difficulty). i work fast, and am a realitivley quick learner.. i learn better on the fly, but its also hard to learn while going that fast, i can learn most duties that way, but the menu is out of question.. i am betting there will be a menu test anyways so thatll all be done with anyways sorry i started ranting lol. anywho, applebees? good place to start if i want to get into culinary as a career? or no way jose? thanks!
