Are there any golf courses around you? Maybe a golf course cafe or restaurant (probably not a "snack shack" job) is right up your alley. I don't think I could do the $10/hour thing anymore. Or, the $13/hour place where I cook shit food thing anymore either. After doing my own thing for a while and getting a few jobs after that (I looked for a long time for a decent exec chef or restaurant manager position), I'm finally back at my old job at a public golf course cafe doing the same old thing again, and I'm very happy. The pay is good (I've been known to take home $45/hour on some good days). The food is good, although not high-end by any means. And I have time off in the winter (which is good for me since my in-laws live in Peru). And I may end up being the owner of it in a short while.
